Designers from Middle West and India experienced a cultural journey in Hangzhou from Sep 14th to Sep 18th at the invitation of Sunon. The designers had an entertaining time for 5 days by visiting the manufacturing base, experiencing the onsite activities at Alibaba, and the design salon held by 47 designers from all over the world.
These designers visited M.Y Lab art studio during their cultural trip in China to experience the traditional craftsmanship of a typical Chinese carpenter and went through every technical process such as measuring, marking up, cutting, shaping, fitting and finishing the timber.
During the designer salon titled “Originated from Fun”, they shared their past collaborative experiences with the Global Top 500 Companies and their world-class design portfolio. The dean from the Institute of Architecture and Design of China Academy of Art (CAA) also shared his interpretation of the aesthetics of Chinese art. As the host, Sunon Group also presented the design case studies of the Global Top 500 Companies and put forward its insights on emerging trends as well as the application of the cutting-edge technology in office furniture manufacturing.
As the last stop of the cultural trip, the designers got on board the Lixin cruise ship. A grand banquet of the finest wine and delicious meals in the middle of the Qiantang River was organized for overseas designers as a farewell to wind up their trip.
The five-day Chinese cultural trip came to an end with a cheer. The designers from India and middle-east said it was delightful to gain this opportunity to communicate with Chinese designers face to face, which deepened their views about China. They’ve been looking forward to having more chances to cooperate with Sunon in the long term.
